@aspcode:
Ok, now I understand what you meant and I agree with this:
They shouldn't add new things in the expense of the core parts.

Last millennium I liked Delphi a lot for Windows development - that is, until the version 6. Around then Borland started to add all kinds of things to the IDE that nobody needed and the development for even simple projects was all the time more complicated.

Around that time I started to move to Microsoft world as VB6, COM and COM+ were quite cool for distributed applications... and ASP 3.0 great for web. So, if you are a dinosaur, then I'm one, too ;)

@jemm:
yes in theory you are right - so I can't argue with you - yet I still do :) . Cause in reality we don't have too much choices. If I, as a developer, want a job/contract I better follow the market. Even if I like it or not. And MS controls the market, that's a fact.
And whenever I see a flaw in the basic tools I use everyday, such as VS etc, I can't help myself from thinking, "oh, if MS could have put all their effort in this instead of Silverlight blahaha". lol - but as I say, I am a dinosaur :)

I enjoy your blog, keep up the good work!
